Urges industries to strengthen ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ through 

innovative manufacturing.

Sri City, Tirupati ,January 17, 2023: Addressing the CXOs of Sri City industries Dr. G. Satheesh Reddy, Scientific Advisor to Raksha Mantri, Ministry Defence, Government of India said,”The union government  has initiated a number of schemes to improve innovative techniques in manufacturing sector and encourage industries to strengthen Atmanirbhar Bharat’ scheme.” 

Dr. Satheesh Reddy visited Sri City on Tuesday and interacted with the senior managers of industrial units. Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder Managing Director, extended a warm welcome and introduced him to the audience. Introducing the guest he said,”I feel this is the right opportunity to introduce the strengths of various industries that have the potential to contribute to ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat.’” 

Delivering a technical talk on ‘Innovative manufacturing – Atmanirbhar Bharat,’ Dr. Satheesh Reddy,  said,“Today’s buzz word is innovation and that is why Government of India has thrown open several sectors, including the defence  for private participation. With its proactive policies it is promoting indigenous technology development through ‘Make in India’ and  ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ schemes.”

Highlighting the importance of self-sufficiency of the country, he emphasised upon the need for joining hands with the academia in conducting focused research in identified areas. He said, “Government is trying to substantially enhance the technological capabilities of Indian industry through various policy initiatives, sustained engagements and intense technology transfers. These efforts are being taken to next level to transform India into a hub of advanced manufacturing. Government policies, especially with respect to ‘Make in India’, ‘Start-up India’,  and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ have provided new opportunities. These are being leveraged to develop R&D and manufacturing eco-system in the country.”

Appreciating the rapid progress taking place in Sri City, he expressed happiness as some of the industrial units are promoting ‘Make in India’ campaign in diverse sectors, by substituting imports and significantly multiplying exports. He urged the participants to give suggestions for improving the approach of government in this regard.

Following the lecture, there was a ‘question & answer’ session, where the speaker clarified the doubts of participants.

Dr. Satheesh Reddy went round the campus and witnessed the brisk activity.
