Tirupati, January 23: AP Government has banned Plastic Flexi and single use plastic,Said Tirupati District Collector VenkataramanaReddy on Monday. following the Andhra Pradesh, Department of Forest and Environment vide their
G.O.Ms.No.65, Dt. 22.09.2022 and G.O.Ms.No.75, Dt. 31.10.2022 as per their orders
the State of Andhra Pradesh has permanently banned the use of plastic flexi from
26.01.2023 and also As per G.O.Ms.No.81, Dt. 29.11.2022 Andhra Pradesh state
government has also banned the use of Single use plastic.
Pursuant to the above Government orders, Pollution Control Board,Regional Officer Mr. A. Narendra Babu, held a review meeting with the
concerned officers under the chairmanship of the District Collector on 23.01.2023.
Speaking on this occasion, the District Collector ordered the concerned officials to
strictly ban the use of plastic flexi as per the government regulations. It was
directed that the prohibition orders should be implemented from Republic Day and
all the activities on that day should be celebrated as plastic free Republic Day.
For this program, District Officers, Mr. M. Srinivasa Rao, District Revenue Officer, Mr.
A. Raja Shekhar Reddy, District Panchayat Officer, Mr. M. Harish Kumar, Assistant
Commissioner Commercial Tax Department, Mr. E. Pratap, District Industries Officer,
Mr. K. Seetharami Reddy, District Transport Commissioner, Mr. P.
Chandramoleswara Reddy, Deputy Commissioner, Tirupati Municipal Corporation,
Ms. D. Sushila Devi, DLPO and various Municipal Commissioners of Tirupati District
participated.
