Sri City, February 9, 2023: Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) in partnership with the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) has organised the 46th Joint Meeting of India-Japan Business Cooperation Committee (IJBCC) on Thursday at New Delhi. The theme of the meet was ‘Cooperation on Sustainable Society for Future Generation‘.
Sharing his thoughts at the inaugural session, His Excellency, Mr. Hiroshi Suzuki, Ambassador of Japan to India said that India has emerged as the preferred business destination for companies from Japan. He also emphasised on the shared visions of both India and Japan.
Speaking at the plenary session, Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder Managing Director Sri City, emphasised that sustainability greatly improves the quality of life, bringing about socio-economic prosperity, environmental protection and preservation of natural resources, thereby securing our future generations. Explaining the sustainable concept upon which Sri City has been built, Dr. Sannareddy said, “Sri City has been built on the concept of sustainable development and strives to meet economic needs without compromising the environmental or socio-economic parameters of the region. The city has been developed on the principles of Work-Live-Learn and Play and guarantees a clean, green, breathe-easy industry-urban agglomeration”. Dr. Sannareddy also shared a short video, sharing a visual representation of the numerous sustainable initiatives practised in Sri City.
Mr. Anurag Jain, Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India shared the vision of both the countries towards peace and prosperity. He also emphasised the convergence of the sustainability goals of both the nations.
There were also speeches from other eminent business leaders from both India and Japan. The event witnessed active participation by delegates which included a large Japanese congregation representing a number of industries from various sectors. Several government officials, member of academia and media were also present at the conclave, which brought together key stakeholders, across bilateral energy cooperation sectors to evolve a roadmap for India-Japan partnership towards making the world clean and green for our present and future generations. The partnership between the two countries will lead to clean growth by boosting job creation, innovation and investments.
