Sri City, August 15, 2023:- The Sri City community celebrated the 77th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and pomp, marking 76 years of freedom. In a colourful ceremony held at the lawns of Business Centre, Mr. Jagadish Naik, Dy. Superintendent of Police, Sri City unfurled the National Flag, and took salute at an impressive parade held by the contingents of Sri City security force.

Greeting the community, Mr. Jagadish Naik exhorted the gathering to remember the sacrifices and sufferings of freedom fighters. He stated that India has emerged as one of the world’s fastest growing economies and is ready to continue on this road, and that all citizens should strengthen the government’s hands. Exalting the growth and development of Sri City, he appreciated the efforts of Sri City Management for providing ample employment opportunities in a backward area. He called upon all the stakeholders to cooperate with the Police and Sri City Security force in maintaining safety, security and serenity in Sri City.

Greeting the community on the occasion, Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder Managing Director, Sri City in a message urged the Sri City community to rededicate in making the country a great nation and a better place to live and experience the freedom, peace, unity, and happiness. “In line with government‘s ‘Make for World’ campaign, Sri City does its bit by hosting over 200 manufacturing industries in different sectors. It gives a stimulus to creation of jobs and getting the economy on the fast track,” he added. He expressed happiness at the active participation of the women and children from the neighbouring villages. 

Mr. Ramesh, Head, Security & Vigilance extended a warm welcome to the chief guest and other distinguished guests, and introduced the security officers to the chief guest. Briefing about the current status of development of the Business City, Mr. C. Ramesh Kumar, Vice President (Customer Relations) greeted the Heads of all the industrial units. He appreciated the services of security force. 

In recognition of their meritorious services in their duties, ‘Best performance’ awards were presented to 20 security officers & guards of Sri City and other Companies, and 20 others from Housekeeping, Landscaping divisions. There were cultural programmes, including kolatam dances, etc., performed by a groups of women from Mallavari Palem East and Aaruru villages. 

Independence Day was celebrated in a befitting manner at all the industrial units, Development Commissioner’s Office, HRD Academy. IIIT, Krea University, Chinmaya Vidyalaya, seventeen government schools and fourteen anganwadies in Sri City villages.
